REGULAR MEETING
July 22, 2025
Gary Stine called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM with the pledge of allegiance. Commission members in attendance: Gonzalo Rubio and Catherine Bryson. Also present Denise Immel Borough Secretary. Absent Buddy Cowher and Michael Lesniak, representative of PVCE.
Citizens present: none
A motion was made by Catherine Bryson to approve the March 25, 2025 minutes as presented, seconded by Gonzalo Rubio. Motion passed.
New Action Items
New Ideas
A request has been received thru PennDot to approve the addition of a driveway off of Rout 45 on East Main Street. A property owner is subdividing a property to build residential housing. Gary Stine will reach out to discuss with property owner. Consensus of the commission is to permit the driveway with PennDot’s approval.
Gonzalo Rubio brought of the lack of code enforcement and how it affects not only the appearance of the town but also safety and health factors. These conditions can affect not only property values but also the likely hood of people moving to the area both residential and business. Mr. Rubio will prepare a presentation to be presented at the next council meeting.
Old Action Items
Main Street America:
This program has tools and resources available to help with small town revitalization. A membership would cost the borough $250.00. This program has helped resurrect other small towns and local businesses. A motion was made by Catherine Bryson to ask the Borough for the $250.00 to join this initiative, seconded by Gonzalo Rubio. Motion passed. Ms. Bryson will present at next council meeting.
Next meeting will be held on September 23, 2025 at 7:00 PM in council chambers.
