Grants

The Borough of Millheim actively seeks out opportunities to acquire state and federal grant funds to improve and beautify our town.

We have successfully used these funds for several projects over the years to make Millheim Borough a better place for all of us to live.

In 2009 Millheim Borough was awarded a PA Conservation Works grant in the amount of $203,500. This money was used to install a geothermal heating/cooling system in the municipal building. As part of this project the Borough committed funds used to install Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s) on the motors at the Water Treatment Facility to help extend the useful life of the motors and to lower the electricity costs of running the facility.

In 2012 Millheim Borough was awarded a Grant/Low Interest Loan from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PennVest) in a grant amount of $1,638,984 and a loan amount of $240,016. This money was used for a Water Main Replacement Project on Main Street from the western to eastern boundary lines on Rt. 45. This project also included the replacement of fire hydrants and provided new water meters for Borough residents.
